Client:                 The University of Auckland
Sector:                Tertiary Education
Area:                   1,200m2 GFA
Completed:        2017

Project Description

This project was part of the decant works to enable the demolition of the existing B403-404 Buildings that made a way for the new B405 Engineering Building. The works include 4 permanent Multi-Disciplinary Learning Spaces (flexible lab spaces) and associated support areas, which form part of the overall redevelopment of the Faculty of Engineering City Campus buildings. The MDLS were a new type of teaching space for the Faculty of Engineering that were essentially a test bed for similar MDLS spaces within the new building.

Physically located on the UoA’s Sector 400 North this project shares common interfaces in terms of architecture, structure, and building services (including fire protection) with the new B405 Project.

Precon’s Role

Precon were Project Managers from Client Briefing to completion of construction, including consenting and procurement streams. This was a complex fit out of an existing space with constrained access that closely integrated with the main Building B405 project.
